Bristol Academy U18s duo, Nathan Chamberlain and Ioan Lloyd will go head-to-head on the international stage this weekend, as Scotland U18 take on Wales U18 at BT Murrayfield on Sunday.
Chamberlain - who attends SGS College and can operate at fly-half, centre and full back - has been named in Iain Monaghan’s 26-man Scotland squad, while Lloyd – a Clifton College pupil - starts at full back for Wales.
"We're looking forward to getting the group together properly and seeing where we are at physically, technically and tactically for the challenges that lie ahead,” said Scotland U18 head coach, Iain Monaghan.
"We work very closely with the clubs, schools and BT Sport Academies to make sure we have regular contact with the U18 and U17 groups throughout the year, but the focus on these individuals' development intensifies post-Christmas when a lot of the school and club fixtures are moving to friendlies and sevens.
The match has been moved from Inverleith to the back pitches at BT Murrayfield and will now kick-off at 11.30am.
"It's an exciting first game of the season for us, and valuable preparation ahead of our Six Nations tournament which begins at the end of the month," said Wales U18 coach, Geraint Lewis.
"We're looking to put into practice the things we've worked on in various camps. This team will be at the younger end of the U18 scale: the January cohort, born after 2000. The first international of the season is always an exciting time.
"Sunday will be very much about giving opportunities and introducing as many players to age grade rugby as possible. Scotland always offer a stern challenge because they're a passionate and well-drilled team.
“The injection of Exiles into their squad for this encounter will make them a formidable opponent."
