Will Capon and Tom Rowland experienced their first defeat in England U18 colours as John Fletcher’s side fell to a 29-19 loss to Wales U18 on Sunday.
The Academy duo both featured at Ebbw Vale RFC - Capon started at hooker while Rowland came on as a second half substitute – as England squandered a first half lead to slip to their first defeat of the season.
Two tries from number eight Sam Moore had given England a 12-10 lead at the break before an impressive fight-back from the hosts in the second half.
A score from Dewi Cross, Harri Morgan and a penalty try was enough to see Wales secure victory.
England U18 will now turn their attention to the U18 International Series, which starts on Saturday, April 8.
