Amber Reed Salutes 'Fantastic' Eagle Project

England international and Eagle Project ambassador, Amber Reed says she is ‘proud and honoured’ to be involved with the programme, after it was crowned winner of the PLAY Award for the second successive year at last week’s Premiership Rugby Parliamentary Awards.

Reed, who last week helped England Women to a 39-13 victory over USA, tweeted immediately after the ceremony – which was held at the House od Commons on Thursday, 7th July – to congratulate everyone involved.

She said: “So proud of these guys & honoured to be an ‪#EagleProject ambassador, congratulations ‪@BrisRugCF ‪#RugbyChangingLives

She added: “The project encompasses the RFU’s core value - sportsmanship, respect, enjoyment, teamwork and discipline.

“It is a fantastic project that provides girls with the opportunity to try an brilliant sport, learn new skills and build friendships.

“I have had the pleasure of witnessing the programme first hand and I am proud to be an ambassador of such an inspiring project.

“It is noticeable speaking with the girls involved that they thoroughly enjoy the experience and it is very rewarding to hear of the success stories the project brings; girls who would try to get out of PE lessons, actually bringing in their kit every week and looking forward to training - and most importantly of all, enjoying it.”
