As it happened: Bristol Bears 10-12 Exeter Chiefs

A penalty try 10 minutes from time saw Exeter Chiefs snatch a two-point victory at Ashton Gate for the second time this season.

After Greg Holmes had given Exeter a fifth-minute lead, Ryan Edwards' try and a conversion and penalty from Ian Madigan had nudged Bristol back in front before the hour mark.

But after a dominant scrum five metres from the hosts' line, referee Luke Pearce went under the posts to award the penalty try and dump Bristol out of the Premiership Rugby Cup.
