As it happened: Bristol Bears 35-28 Newcastle Falcons

Bristol Bears fought back from 10-20 down to beat Newcastle Falcons 35-28 in front of more than 18,000 supporters at Ashton Gate on Sunday.

Harry Randall, Charles Piutau, Luke Morahan and Tom Pincus all crossed in a bonus-point win for Pat Lam's side, cancelling our scores from Vereniki Goneva, Calum Chick and Adam Radwan.

9 minsPEN7-3 - Falcons respond with long period of possession inside the Bristol 22, but Bears repel them, and Flood knocks over simple penalty.

21 minsTRY7-10 – First try for Newcastle, as the roaming Goneva picks from close range to power over from close range. Flood converts.

27 minsPEN7-13 – Visitors earn a penalty inside the Bristol 22 and Flood is on target to extend their lead.  

31 minsPEN10-13 – Penalty awarded to Bristol at the scrum and Madigan obliges from the 22.

34 minsTRY10-20 – Callum Chick goes over from close range after strong charge from McGuigan. Flood converts.

58 minsPEN25-20 – Bristol maul is pulled down by Newcastle and Madigan knocks over resulting penalty to extend the home side's lead.

69 minsPEN28-25 – Falcons give away a penalty under their own posts and Sheedy lands a simple kick to edge Bristol back in front in a topsy-tervy clash.

72 minsPEN28-28 – But it's all-square once again, as Flood lands his third penalty of the afternoon after Bristol fail to deal with kick-off.

76 minsTRY35-28 – Is that the match-winner? Tom Pincus squeezes in the corner after powerful bust from Ed Holmes on the left-hand side gets Bristol in behind a scrambling Falcons defence. Sheedy converts from the touchline.
