As it happened: Bristol Bears 43-22 Zebre

Bristol Bears got back to winnings ways with a 43-22 victory over Zebre at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

Tries from Alapati Leiua, Ryan Edwards (2), Joe Latta, Nick Haining, Jake Armstrong and Andy Uren saw Bristol kick off their European Challenge Cup campaign in style.

3 mins – Nic Stirzaker takes quick tap and go to catch Zebre sleeping, but after Sheedy offloads to Leiua, ball is spilt forward.

8 minsTRY7-0 – Alapati Leiua slices through a gap in the Zebre defence to score under the posts, with Sheedy adding conversion.

11 minsPEN7-3 – Francois Brummer lands long-range penalty to narrow deficit.

13 minsTRY12-3 - Sweeping move right to left and Hurrell feeds Ryan Edwards to dive over in the corner.

18 minsYELLOW – Venditti sin-binned for deliberate knock on.

19 minsTRY19-3 – From resulting lineout, Joe Latta powers over from close range. Sheedy converts.

21 minsTRY24-3 – Siale Piutau makes the initial bust, before Dan Thomas’ flat pass sends Nick Haining in the corner.

32 minsTRY31-3 - Glorious break and pass from Sheedy, as the fly half sends Edwards in for his second of the afternoon. Sheedy converts.

38 minsTRY31-10 - Zebre hit back and touch down courtesy of Eduardo Bello at a driving maul. Brummer converts.

40 minsTRY36-10 - Jake Armstrong bags his first try for the club courtesy of a driving maul, after Piutau wins penalty inside Zebre 22.

61 minsYELLOW – Adjudged deliberate knock on sees Sheedy sent to the sin bin.

63 minsTRY43-17 - Will Hurrell cuts inside and sets off before feeding Andy Uren to sprint in from 30 metres. Bedlow converts.

67 mins – Tommaso Boni grubbers through and collects his own kick to touch down, but try is disallowed for a forward pass.

75 minsTRY43-22 – Tommaso Boni powers over in the corner after sweeping handling move. Conversion missed.

79 mins - Andy Uren intercepts and sprints 80 metres before being hauled down metres short of the line.
