As it happened: Bristol Bears 47-10 Northampton Saints

Bristol Bears ran in seven tries to record their biggest ever win in the Gallagher Premiership, as they thrashed top six contenders Northampton Saints at Ashton Gate.

Harry Thacker, Alapati Leiua, Andy Uren, Chris Vui, Ben Earl, Piers O'Conor and Luke Morahan touched down for the Bears as they reclaimed second place in the table.

3 mins – PEN – 0-3 – Bears penalised for holding on and Grayson lands penalty to open the scoring.

9 mins – TRY – 7-3 – Powerful driving lineout from the Bears and Thacker touches down at the back of the maul. Sheedy converts.

16 mins – TRY – 14-3 – Another lineout drive from the Bears and Sheedy’s flick finds Piutau, whose long pass sends Leiua in for the second try. Sheedy converts.

18 mins – TRY – 21-3 – A stunning try from the Bears, who break through Earl with Uren touching down. Sheedy converts.

27 mins – PEN MISSED – 21-3 – Penalty at scrum time but Sheedy’s kick strikes the post.

66 mins – TRY – 35-10 – Started and finished by Ben Earl, who makes the initial bust before picking through the ruck to go under the sticks. Sheedy converts.

73 mins – TRY – 47-10 – Another ridiculous try. Back of the hand passes from Luatua and Lloyd and Sheedy’s cross-kick sends Morahan in out wide.
