Bears Academy announces groundbreaking partnership with Xledger

Bristol based Xledger, the cloud-based finance software provider for mid-market organisations, has announced it is expanding its partnership with Bristol Sport.

Not only will Xledger be sponsoring the Ashton Gate Stadium South Stand for a second year, Xledger has added a new agreement with the Bristol Bears Academy as part of its sponsorship.

At a time when many businesses are withdrawing their commercial agreements with sporting organisations around the country, Xledger UK remains invested in supporting the role of Bristol Sport in the community. As part of the relationship, Xledger will be sponsoring youngsters from 13 years upwards through the Bristol Bears Academy programme.

Mark Pullen, Xledger UK CEO, commented, “In addition to the great brand recognition we’ve received as a result of our sponsorship of the Ashton Gate South Stand, we really admire Bristol Sport’s approach to uniting the city through sporting achievement.’

“We share Bristol Sport’s view in recognising the positive impact and powerful influence that sport has in the breaking down of social boundaries, between age groups and inequalities. Xledger UK is a Bristol business employing people who live and work in the region and we understand the value that the Bristol Bears Academy brings to young people as individuals, which extends far beyond the game of rugby.”

Harry Rowson – a member of the Bears scholarship programme – is now undertaking an internship with Xledger as the club continues to develop its young players on and off the field.

Emily Joyce, Bristol Sport Commercial Sales Executive, added, “Xledger share our vision for success and understand the importance of the local community and the role sport can play. 2020 has been extremely challenging for sport of all kinds all over the world. It is with great pleasure that we announce not only the renewal of the sponsorship of the Ashton Gate Stadium South Stand, but expand Xledger’s agreement to the benefit of the Bristol Bears Academy. Watch this space for further developments in the coming months.”

Gethin Watts, Senior Academy Manager at the Bristol Bears, said: “The support from Xledger has been brilliant. It’s not just a commercial agreement, it’s a genuine partnership where the company are helping to develop our young players through their internship programme and are truly bought into the values of the Academy.

Gary Townsend, Junior Academy Manager at the Bristol Bears, said: “For a company of Xledger’s reputation and success to be aligned with the Bears Academy is a major boost for everybody from Bears Aspire, Bears Excel and across the Junior Academy. We’re proud to work closely with Xledger going forward as we inspire the next generation of Bristol Bears stars.”
