Bears trio fire England to Autumn Nations Cup win

Kyle Sinckler, Ben Earl and Max Malins all played their part as England battled to a sudden death extra-time victory over France in the Autumn Nations Cup final.

Sinckler started the game while Earl and Malins made an impact off the bench, to fire Eddie Jones' side to a 22-19 victory, courtesy of an Owen Farrell penalty in the second half of extra time.

“We had to collect ourselves at half time and I was so pleased with the players in the second half,” said Jones. “You could see as the game went on we got stronger and stronger, our finishers did a superb job.”

“We just had to keep fighting. You never think you’re going to lose a game, you always think you’re going to win, and I think the players had the right application for the job.”

Jones added: “We were just two or three percent off, we thought we had a good prep for the game but we were a little bit off, a bit slow on a few cleanouts, our passing wasn’t precise and we just needed to sharpen up. The players knew that and their application to do it was outstanding.

“We’re so happy with our victory; we’ve won the Six Nations and we’ve won the Autumn Nations Cup. We can’t do any more.”
