Bern shortlisted for World Rugby Women’s Player of the Year

Bristol Bears Women and England tight-head Sarah Bern is one of five players shortlisted for the World Rugby Women’s 15s Player of the Year 2019.

Sarah Bern is nominated alongside fellow Red Roses Katy Daley-Mclean and Emily Scarratt,  while Pauline Bourdon (France) and Kendra Cocksedge (New Zealand) are also included.

Bern has lit up the Tyrrell’s Premier 15s and international stage throughout 2019. The 22 year-old, has started eight of England’s nine matches in 2019, including every match in the Grand Slam winning campaign, scoring five tries.

The front-row will be looking to add to her accolades already accrued this year, as Bern was also named the Women’s RPA Player of the Year for 2019 back in May.

The awards will be presented at a dinner in Tokyo on Sunday, November 3rd - the day after the World Cup final.

Everyone at Bristol Bears would like to congratulate Sarah on this fantastic achievement and wish her the best of luck for Sunday.
