Sale Sharks captain Beth Stafford will join Bristol Bears ahead of the 2022/23 Allianz Premier 15s season.
The 28-year-old versatile forward, who is comfortable in the second row and back row, represented the Barbarians against Wales in 2019 and arrives in the West Country with a big reputation.
Head Coach, Dave Ward, said: “Beth was one of the standout players in the Premier 15s last season and with the ability to play both in the second row and back row, we are excited to welcome her on board.
“She is a fierce ball carrier with a big desire to improve and is a leader by nature who will drives standards around her.”
Stafford added: “The opportunity to join a hugely exciting project at the Bears was one I jumped at, and I’m already raring to go.
“The Bears’ rugby programme is world class and the facilities at the High Performance Centre are unrivalled in the women’s game, so it’s an exciting time to be a Bear.”
