Billy Searle Makes Academy Switch

The Bristol Rugby Academy’s recruitment for the 2016/17 campaign continues with the arrival of Plymouth Albion fly half Billy Searle.

The 20-year old makes the switch on a two-year contract following an impressive season with Albion in National One.

“We’ve been tracking Billy throughout the season and have been extremely impressed in the way he manages the game for Plymouth,” Academy Manager Mike Hall told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“For such a young guy, he has a wise head on his shoulders. Billy has been instrumental in Plymouth’s rise up the National One table and we’re excited to see him continue his development within our Academy set-up.

“I know everyone at Plymouth thinks very highly of him, so we are delighted he has chosen to join us.”

Searle has previously represented Cornish All Blacks and South West England U18s.

He said: “I’m delighted to be joining such a progressive club and I’m looking forward to getting started at Bristol.

“It’s a Club that gives young players opportunities and I’m excited about the prospect of working hard to prove my capabilities at this level of rugby.”
