This year’s Break The Cycle event, which took place on Sunday, 3rd July, has been hailed as ‘the best ever’ by organisers.
More than 200 cyclists tackled the gruelling 110-mile route – setting off from Ashton Gate and passing through Bath and Gloucester, before returning to Bristol – and organiser and fundraiser, Sally Mabbutt said it was ‘a huge success’.
She said: “It was absolutely fantastic – the weather was beautiful, the cyclists were amazing and everyone had a great day.
“We’re already looking forward to next year’s event, with the date to be confirmed very soon, and I must thank everyone who has played a part in ensuring Break The Cycle 2016 was a huge success.”
Chief community officer, Ben Breeze, who himself conquered the ride, said everything had gone to plan.
He said: “I’ve been doing Break The Cycle for six years now and this was by far and away the best ever.
“The course was beautiful, we had some brilliant weather, and the atmosphere back at Ashton Gate afterwards was absolutely superb.”
