Bristol Bears Supporters Club statement

The Supporters Club would like to congratulate all the players, staff and management on their fantastic achievement of finishing top of the Gallagher Premiership regular season for the first time.

This amazing feat surely ranks alongside any previous successes and exceeds the realistic expectations of many supporters in terms of being the most consistent team playing the most exciting brand of rugby over an entire Gallagher Premiership season.

This is something we could only dream of in the recent past, so well done to all involved to make it a reality. It's clearly been a real squad effort with everyone playing their part so professionally and with class.

Thanks for all the thrilling moments, the nail-biting comebacks, the last-minute tries, the dogged determination and never say die attitude that has been crucial in many games. And of course, the exhilarating rugby throughout. You have achieved first position by demonstrating all of these qualities and more. So, we applaud you and are very proud to support you in good times as we do in bad.

We will now be cheering you on in the big push for play-off victory even if we haven’t been able to attend matches in large numbers or to organise travel to provide our vociferous support at away matches.

You are all a credit to the Bristol shirt and we are supporting you unconditionally from wherever we are watching and we sincerely hope you feel that support. We're certain those lucky to be at Ashton Gate on Saturday will demonstrate our collective appreciation on behalf of those that unfortunately can't attend.

Every supporter wants to hear the blackbird sing again this season, starting on Saturday and finishing with a ‘final rendition’ at Twickenham on June 26th.

C’mon Bris.

The Supporters Club Committee and Members.
