Bristol Bears Women’s fixture against Gloucester-Hartpury is set to be played at Ashton Gates in unique double header at BS3 later this month.
The round three Tyrell’s Premier 15’s fixture will follow the Bristol Bears’ clash with Harlequins and kick-off at 4:50pm on Saturday, 22nd September.
In the corresponding fixture last season, it was the Bristol Bears Women who prevailed 28-20 victors over their west-country rival at the Gate.
“The double header is a fantastic opportunity for the girls to play at Ashton Gate," said head coach Kim Oliver.
“It’s brilliant that we’ve got the opportunity to follow the men’s game, it should be a unbelievable occasion.
“The atmosphere will be electric, it will give the players’ performance a massive boost and it’ll motivate them to take that extra step and push themselves further.”
Bristol Bears chief operating officer Mark Tainton spoke of his delight at the double header being confirmed: "Following the success of last season's double header, we're delighted to team up with Bristol Bears Women once again at Ashton Gate.
"It's fantastic to see the two clubs working in partnership, not just with the popular double header event, but also in sharing ideas, with Kim Oliver visiting the Bears' training base and Pat Lam and players taking part in the womens' pre-season training sessions.
"With two high-quality games of rugby at Ashton Gate on a Saturday afternoon, we hope as many supporters as possible take advantage of this occasion.
