Bristol Ladies confirms final coaching appointments ahead first game at Ashton Gate next month.
After a restructure at the end of last season, the coaching set up at Bristol Ladies has been expanded.
Roy Davies secured the role of 1st XV Forward Coach, whilst Sebastian Delport and James Hall moved into 2nd XV Backs and Forward roles respectively. LJ Adams retains the role of Head Coach.
We are delighted to announce the final appointment of Christopher Leech, who takes the role of 1st XV Backs Coach.
Chris, who is originally from Llandeilo, represented Welsh Crawshays and Carmarthenshire U20s before moving to England to start his own business.
He has been involved with rugby in the Gloucestershire area for the last four seasons, having recently secured his role as Head Coach for Barton Hill Rugby Club and the position of Backs Coach for Gloucestershire U20s. Chris is thrilled to be joining the Bristol Ladies family.
"The opportunity to join a coaching team at a top women’s rugby club, and having the chance to work with some of the best female players in the game, was a very appealing prospect. The challenge of turning the team that finished 4th in the Premiership last year, into the team that wins it this year is hugely exciting."
Bristol Rugby winger Darren Hudson will also return for his second season in a supporting role at the club, offering coaching and advice across both teams – his on field and off field experience is massively valuable for the players.
The Ladies Head Coach feels confident about this season, "a new season brings some new faces and fresh ideas. With the new coaching set up we have great diversity and experience from across the game. With a month to go until our first games there is a buzz around the club – it’s exciting."
Bristol Ladies 1st XV kick off the season as part of a double header with Bristol Rugby at Ashton Gate on 6th September (KO 5.15pm).
