Bristol Ladies Rugby announce departure of Poppy Cleall

England World Cup finalist, Poppy Cleall has left Bristol Ladies to join former club Saracens, the club can announce.

The England international, who signed for Bristol Ladies from Saracens in the summer of 2016, returns to the Southgate-based side for the inaugural Tyrrells Premier 15s season.

Cleall studied sports therapy and rehabilitation at the University of West of England in Bristol, as well as playing for the England U20 side that beat Wales, Canada and South Africa six years ago.

Poppy Cleall touches down for Bristol Ladies during the 2016/17 season (JMP UK).

Cleall said: "l have always been grateful for the support and great memories I have had at Bristol since my debut in 2010. I wish the whole squad and staff the very best for the season and will always be proud of what I managed to  achieve here at Bristol Ladies.”

Head coach, Kris de Scossa said: “Poppy has been a great squad member here at Bristol Ladies Rugby. She works hard and has benefited from the development process we have given her.

"My advice to the next generation of 'Poppys' is that Bristol is your path to England - if you have an intention to play for England, get in touch with us. We wish Poppy the best of luck.”

The club would like to wish Poppy the best of luck as she joins her sister at Saracens for the 2017/18 season.
