Bristol Ladies made it two out of two in the RFU Women’s Premiership when they beat Lichfield Ladies 13 – 37 on Sunday.
A hat trick from Amber Reed and Sarah Hunter closed down the contest as Bristol continued an unbeaten start to the campaign.
Amber Reed’s penalty goal and try gave the visitors a narrow 8-10 lead at the interval, but a stunning second half disaply ensured the bonus pint victory.
Sarah Hunter was on the receiving end of a great offload from Izzy Noel Smith to touch down. Reed successfully converted and, five minutes later, was back on the score card again.
Reed secured her hat-trick with a close range effort soon after, before Sarah Hunter added her second of the afternoon.
Lichfield touched down late on, but Sarah Hunter’s try from a driving maul secured a convincing win.
Head Coach LJ Adams said: “It was a great game today – we’re really proud of the girls. We closed Lichfield out once we had built the pressure in the first half. There is a really good feel amongst the girls, everyone is enjoying their rugby but also feel they can keep pushing for a better performance each week.
“We will use this week to be honest in our feedback from the game and tighten up in the areas we leaked points. Everyone is hugely excited to be back at home next week against Richmond.”
