Bristol Secure Tusi Pisi Signing

Bristol Rugby have signed Samoan international Tusi Pisi ahead of the 2016/17 season.

The experienced fly half joins from the Japanese Super Rugby franchise Sunwolves on a two-year deal.

Pisi has made twenty-eight appearances for Samoa, while also representing Toulon, the Hurricanes and the Crusaders during a distinguished club career.

“Tusi is Samoa’s first choice fly half and a respected leader. He’s developed a reputation as an intelligent, level-headed fly half with a strong kicking game,” Director of Rugby Andy Robinson told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“Tusi’s experience will be beneficial for our younger players and he remains as hungry and motivated as ever. We look forward to welcoming him to Bristol Rugby.”

Brother of Ken and George Pisi, Tusi first came to prominence as part of the New Zealand under 21 set-up.

He added: “I’m delighted to be joining Bristol Rugby and look forward to playing club rugby in England for the first time during my career.

“I have spoken to the Samoan contingent at Bristol and have heard great things so I’m excited to get involved and help the team attain success.

“I’ve enjoyed my time in Japan and the experience has helped me develop as a player. I still have much I want to achieve and I hope I can do that with Bristol.”
