Bryan Byrne joins as injury cover

Bryan Byrne will join Bristol Bears on a short-term loan agreement as injury cover.

The Leinster hooker, who has made 47 appearances for the Irish province, joins the club next week.

Bears can confirm that Harry Thacker (neck) will be sidelined for up to three months.

Shaun Malton, Tom Lindsay, Will Capon and George Kloska remain available for selection.

Director of Rugby Pat Lam said: “Following confirmation of Harry’s long-term injury, we needed to bring in cover for the hooker position.

“We’re grateful to Leo Cullen and the IRFU for supporting this move and for their co-operation. Like all Leinster players, Bryan has proven quality and experience at the highest level of the domestic game.”
