Bucket collection to raise life-saving funds for Adam Long

Friends and family of a 26-year-old amateur rugby player, who needs to raise £100,000 for life-saving cancer treatment, will hold a bucket collection at tomorrow night’s pre-season clash with Connacht at Ashton Gate.

Newlywed, Adam Long - whose story has touched the nation following appearances on national television - was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer that had spread from his pancreas to his liver, lungs and peritoneum at the age of 23.

Now at 26, he has hit a bump in the road, with chemotherapy now not able to prolong his life for much longer. Adam’s last hope rests on funding his own immunotherapy treatment.

Immunotherapy is currently not available on the NHS for pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer, however it is excelling in treating melanoma, lung cancer and is coming on leaps and bounds in many others too.
Adam has already endured five different types of chemotherapy, two major operations and radiotherapy over the past three years.
