Busy Weekend Of Rugby For Bristol Academy

A busy weekend for the Bristol Rugby Academy saw teams at U15s, U16s and U18s all take the field.

Bristol’s extended geographical Academy area meant a Bristol Schools XV took on Somerset (Bristol) XV at U15s at Hornets RFC on Friday night.
A hard fought contest saw the Bristol team come out on top, 19-17. A further Bristol Schools U15s side took on Somerset (Bath) and a spirited second half comeback saw Bristol Schools go down 22-12.
On Saturday, it was the turn of the U18s in action with their second league fixture of the U18s league, meeting Exeter Chiefs Academy at SGS College. Tries from Sam Perry, Will Capon and Charlie Powell and a conversion from Nathan Chamberlain contributed to Bristol’s haul of 17 points, but two late penalties from Chiefs saw them take the spoils 21-17.
The final round of games took place on Sunday when two U16 teams took on Cornwall at SGS College. Two very strong team performances saw both teams come away with victories; 17-0 and 31-10.
Sunday, 15 January sees the Bristol U15s take on Devon and the Somerset (Bristol) team take on Dorset & Wilts, whilst the U18s face Leicester Tigers in Sutton Coldfield in a friendly clash on Saturday.
