Academy U18 pair Nathan Chamberlain and Ioan Lloyd will both feature in the Six Nations Festival - which gets under way on Saturday – after being selected in the Scotland and Wales squads respectively.
Fly-half Chamberlain - who was named man of the match on his international debut - is named in Iain Monaghan’s 26-man Scotland squad, while Lloyd – who can operate at fly-half and full-back – also makes the cut for Wales.
Academy U18 scrum-half, Blake Boyland was yesterday named in the England U18 squad for the festival, with Will Capon and Charlie Powell ineligible due to IRB age-grade regulations.
Scotland U18 head coach, Monaghan said: “We’re looking forward to travelling to Wales later this week to compete in the Six Nations U18 Festival.
“We have three tough games and we’ll be aiming to make further progress following matches against Wales and England earlier this month.
“It’s a great opportunity for our players to play against top level opposition away from home and for us to build on what we’ve been working on.”
Wales U18 head coach, Chris Horsman said: "Every match will expose the players to different styles of play and test the players, but our big focus will be on ourselves.
"We want to provide an environment to enable the players to improve in the long-term by giving them the tools and skills to work out how to do this for themselves.”
Chamberlain and Lloyd went head to head earlier this month as Wales edged out Scotland, before both sides were defeated by England U18, featuring fellow Academy U18 players Will Capon and Blake Boyland.
The multi-talented Lloyd missed Wales’ clash with England due to a Clifton College school cricket tour to Sri Lanka.
