Molson has supported the Bristol Bears Community Foundation HITZ programme since March 2021 and has engaged in several events and workshops to support young people on the programme in the development of their skills and qualities in pursuit of employment.
As a result, four young people from last year’s cohort have progressed to employment or apprenticeships with Molson. Charlie, Connor, Dawda and Louis have spent over a year now working across several different areas of the business and all are thriving and happy at work.
Community Development Manager, Craig Capel, said: “To see these young men develop and mature over the last couple of years has been a real privilege.
“The HITZ programme is very much about supporting young people beyond the classroom and it was clear from our very first meeting that the good people at Molson adopted this same approach to their day-to-day business.
“We are very grateful to our friends from Molson for continuing this level of care and guidance that has certainly contributed positively to the success of all four former HITZ students.”
HITZ uses rugby's core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline & sportsmanship to support young people to make positive changes in their lives. HITZ helps participants to change their lives by gaining qualifications and developing their personal skills, life skills and employability skills to support that young person in further education, training, or employment.
