Community Foundation to host Land Rover Premiership Cup

The successful Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup returns this season with Bristol Bears Community Foundation hosting its event on Sunday, 10th February 2019 at Bristol Grammar School.

The under-11 and under-12 grassroots rugby festival is part of a series of nationwide events which provide aspiring young players the opportunity to play in a competitive event and meet professional players from Bristol Bears.

Registration and pre-festival briefings will take place at 9:15am, with the event beginning at 10am with an expected finish of 2pm.

Both U11s & U12s will operate on a festival format with no overall winner. The format will provide equitable game time for all teams attending.

All of teams playing will have an opportunity to be selected to win a prize of a trip to the Premiership Final at Twickenham courtesy of Land Rover.

All teams - made up of coaches, players and their parents - that best demonstrate the core values of our game will be entered into the draw on the afternoon of the festival.

“I look forward to seeing the next generation of Bristol Bears players on show. A huge thanks to Bristol Grammar School for supporting the Land Rover Premiership Cup.”

Craig Capel, community development manager

The events are designed to provide young players with a chance to play competitive fixtures in a format that is appropriate for their ages and stage of development, all within the spirit of rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.

“We’re excited about this year’s event which will see up to 32 teams from across the Combination take part in a festival of rugby with the values of our game at the very heart and focus of the day,” said community development manager, Craig Capel.

“We hope to see players and staff from Bristol Bears, which will contribute to an experience that young players will remember forever.

“I look forward to seeing the next generation of Bristol Bears players on show. A huge thanks to Bristol Grammar School for supporting the Land Rover Premiership Cup.”

Since its inception in 2008, the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup has seen more than 82,000 children from all over the country take part; enough to fill Twickenham Stadium.
