Community Foundation welcomes HITZ tutor

Bristol Bears Community Foundation is delighted to welcome Ben Woolfson as HITZ tutor for the programme, which starts in September.

HITZ is Premiership Rugby’s award-winning education and employability programme which works with over 2,000 16-24-year-olds across England every year.

The programme uses rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship to get young people not in education, training or employment (NEET) back into education, training, apprenticeships and/or employment, and is delivered nationally by England’s 12 professional rugby clubs.

“This is my first year working for the Bears and I have already noticed the positive impact that the programme has on the youth of Bristol,” said Ben.

“This is done through the wide range of exciting activities on offer which have helped students develop their confidence and learn vital teamwork skills.

“I have a history of football coaching for a variety of clubs in the UK and America plus teaching Physical Education in secondary schools.

“I am excited to help this programme grow from strength to strength and support the learners in earning their qualifications.”

The Community Foundation will host a HITZ open day at Lockleaze Sports Centre on Tuesday, July 16th. Book your place by clicking here.

HITZ courses with Bristol Bears start in September 2019 and February 2020, offering support with exit routes such as Level One and Two programmes, apprenticeship programmes and full or part-time work.
