Consistency key for Lindsay

Assistant Coach Tom Lindsay has challenged Bears Women to find consistency in their performance levels as they prepared to face table-toppers Harlequins at the Stoop.

“We need look at what we did well, appreciate that and also find the work-ons and try to build better going towards the weekend. So, that’s us looking at ourselves this week.

“We can’t keep ebbing and flowing in this league. If you don’t play at 100% of your ability then you have to find that 60, 70, 80% where you can stay at that level and not drop off.

“At the moment we can’t go from 10% to 100%, and as we saw in the first ten minutes last weekend our mindset was a little bit off and Saracens put two or three tries past us, which in this league isn’t good enough as it’s a game done and dusted almost.

“After that period we fronted up massively, so can we start like that and carry it all the way through.

“If we concede a few points early on against Harlequins, I think it could be a tough day. Can we put them under pressure from the start and start chipping away the 3, 6, 9, try here or there and we keep building.

“When we do score, we need to get the ball back, exit well and play where we want to but at the moment, we’re doing something good and then compound it with a couple of errors and then do something good.

“If we just focus on what we know we can do in the right areas, then I feel we’ll definitely challenge Quins in certain areas.”
