Cooke Set For Bristol Departure

Bristol Rugby's Mark Cooke will join Jersey at the end of the 2014/15 campaign.

The Academy centre - who is currently on a dual-registration agreement with Rotherham Titans - will make the switch to St Peter ahead of the new season.

Cooke made a total of nine first team appearances for Bristol Rugby following a debut in 2011, scoring thirty-three points for the Club.

“It was a tough decision to let Mark go because of the person and player he is – we discussed it at length,” Academy Manager Mike Hall told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“We felt that it was right for Mark’s rugby development to move to Jersey and get regular Championship rugby under his belt.

“Ultimately, we want all our young players to be exposed regularly to a competitive level of rugby and that’s why Mark has spent time at Rotherham already this season.

“We believe it is a good option for Mark and his career. We will be watching his development in Jersey with keen interest.

“Mark goes to Jersey with our blessing and we wish him the best of luck in the next chapter of his career.”

Everybody at Bristol Rugby would like to thank Mark for his contribution to the blue and white hoops.
