Crumpton: Defence Is Key For Us

Max Crumpton insists Bristol are showing improvements defensively ahead of the Championship clash versus Ealing on Saturday (3pm KO).

The hooker - who made his first outing of the season in the victory over Rotherham - told bristolrugby.co.uk the squad were pleased to have kept the opposition to seven and twelve points in the past two fixtures.

"Our target was to keep Jersey and Rotherham under twenty points and we achieved that by showing better discipline," he said.

"We're putting in the hard work on the training ground and it's showing because we are getting better with every game.

"The key is just to keep making those progressions, particularly in defence because we knew we conceded points too cheaply at the start of the season.

"Our away from has been pretty good so far, so we want to build on that this weekend against a good Ealing side."
