Cunningham ready for the battle up front

Hollie Cunningham eyes up the challenge of fronting up against Saracens as Bristol Bears Women welcoming the defending champions to Shaftesbury Park on Saturday afternoon (2pm KO).

‘Everything needs to happen with intent’

“I think it’s a good challenge to get ourselves going again from previous week and it’s a good opportunity to show the hard work we have been putting on over the last two weeks.

“I think there were a lot of learnings to take from our last game against Gloucester-Hartpury and we need to make sure that we utilise then to the bets of our ability and we’ve got a good platform to do that on Saturday.

“As soon as the whistle starts everything needs to happen with intent and I think as a side we haven’t had that in previous games and Saturday is a real opportunity for us to stamp our mark on the game in the first ten minutes.

“I think it will be very physical battle, especially between the two packs. They have a very heavy and powerful pack, and it’s going to be up to us to match it and then beat it in order for us to get the result we want on Saturday.

“It’s massive for our backs to have a platform up front, we’ve got some real talent out in the back line as well as some key plays, so it’s really important for us as a group of forwards to give them the platform they need to do what they do best.”
