Disciplinary verdict: Sam Bedlow

Sam Bedlow of Bristol Bears appeared before an online independent disciplinary panel last night (Tuesday, February 23rd 2021).

Bedlow was cited by independent citing commissioner Nick Wood following the match between London Irish and Bristol Bears on Sunday 21 February. This was for a tip tackle on London Irish's Theo Brophy-Clews in the second minute of the match contrary to World Rugby Law 9.18.

The centre accepted the charges and was given a three-week suspension by the independent disciplinary panel comprising Jeremy Summers (chair), with Chris Skaife and Jamie Corsi. He is free to play again on March 16th, 2021.

Bedlow misses the following matches: 

  • February 27th: Bristol Bears vs Leicester Tigers
  • March 6th: Worcester Warriors vs Bristol Bears 
  • March 12th: Bristol Bears vs Wasps
