Bristol Sport and Ashton Gate Stadium have launched a strategic marketing partnership with The Wave Bristol to drive women’s sporting participation across the region.
The Wave is a ‘slice of the ocean’ inland, where people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities can experience the many health benefits and pure joy of being in water and waves. They team there will work closely with Bristol City and Bristol Bears to empower women to take up football, rugby, surfing and bodyboarding, and embrace the ever-growing fan bases of both clubs.
Sarah Farrar, Bristol Sport Chief Commercial Officer, said: “The partnership with The Wave is hugely exciting and one that will use the power of our sporting group to increase women’s participation in a range of sports.
“In 2022, surfing was one of the fastest-growing activities for women and with the incredible growth of women’s football and rugby in the past 12 months, we’re excited about the potential of this joint drive.”
Suzanne Roper, Head of Commercial for the Wave, said: “We are delighted to join forces with Bristol Sport to create a strategic marketing partnership.
“As organisations, we believe in the power of sport for good and enabling more women and girls to access the activities we love is a core part of what we do.
“Working together makes absolute sense! We look forward to not only creating a fun partnership for the players but one that will also embrace the clubs’ supporter base, empower women, and increase female participation in sport.”
