Eagle Project shortlisted for Women’s Sport Trust award

Bristol Rugby Community Foundation’s Eagle Project has been shortlisted for a Women’s Sport Trust #BeAGameChanger Award – shortlisted in the ‘Inspiring Local Initiative’ category.

The Eagle Project is a school rugby programme aimed at girls in Years 8, 9 and 10 and has twice been crowned at Premiership Rugby’s Parliamentary Awards.

"This is absolutely fantastic news and we are delighted to have been nominated for a Women's Sport Trust award," said programme manager, Geraint Lewis.

"It's great that the project is being recognised for the progress it is making, year on year, working with new schools and clubs to increase participation in girls rugby.

"This is recognition for all of the work being carried out, not only by the Community Foundation, but also by our incredible volunteers across the region."

The Women’s Sport Trust #BeAGameChanger awards, showcase the irresistible nature of women’s sport and inspire others to take action. Following a public nomination process, each award was shortlisted by the Board of Trustees.

The finalists in each category will then be chosen by an expert panel before public voting decides the winners. Winners will be announced at the #BAGC2018 awards in London on May 24th 2018.
