Great Britain's first Olympic Ski Jumper and inspiration for new hollywood blockbuster to speak at Big Sports Breakfast in April.
Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards is announced as guest speaker at the Big Sports Breakfast on Friday, April 29th 8am-10am.
Eddie is now the subject of a new feature film starring Hugh Jackman and Christopher Walken, which will be in cinemas from Friday, April 1st.
Eddie was ranked 55th in the world which qualified him as the only GB applicant for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.
With the UK firmly backing the plasterer from Gloucestershire, Eddie took to the slopes followed by a whirlwind of international press and media.
Eddie competed in the 70m and 90m jump events, but unfortunately came last in both events.
Although he did not win an Olympic medal, he did win a place in the hearts of spectators all around the globe. This was ultimatlely due to his lack of success, but more importantly his pure determination and ‘have a go’ attitude.
Over the next 12 months a line-up of star guests will provide a unique insight into becoming leaders in their field including Olympian Kriss Akabusi; Paralympian and 7/7 survivor Martine Wright and the 'First Lady of Football' Karren Brady CBE.
