Final Wheelchair Rugby Taster Session A Success

The final junior wheelchair rugby taster session - before the programme goes full time in September - held at Merchants Academy Sports Centre on Thursday, 21st July saw ten youngsters take part in a range of activities.

After a series of dodgeball games and teamwork drills, the youngsters played a mini match to finish the session, with the Blues beating the Reds 4-3.

The adult taster session, held immediately after the juniors, saw two new participants join the group and there was a real buzz about future sessions.

The final adult taster session is on Thursday, 4th August, 8.30pm-10pm at Merchants Academy Sports Centre.

Spectrum Project programme mamanger, Kris Tavender said: “The partnership with Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby has gone from strength to strength and with Access Sport coming on board as a community partner also, the future is very bright for wheelchair rugby in Bristol.

“It is great to see seven months of development and growth culminate in so much fun and community participation.”
