First Bus to launch Temple Meads route for Bath derby

First Bus will provide a one-off service from Temple Meads when Bath visit Ashton Gate on Friday, August 31st (7.45pm KO).

To cater for the high numbers of supporters attending the fixture, First Bus have laid on the service for this game only, running every twenty minutes from 5.30pm and until 11.25pm after the game.

The service costs just £4 return (adult), while a single (one way) journey costs £3.

New routes added for rugby fans (Henbury and Brislington Park & Ride):

For rugby supporters, we have added a new ‘AG6’ service, operating between Henbury, Westbury-on-Trym, Whiteladies Road and Clifton Village.

In addition, the Brislington Park and Ride (AG2) service will now operate for rugby matchdays, while the ‘AG1’ Portway service will operate an increased service post-match. The popular ‘AG3’ route from Horfield Common continues as normal.

“The bus routes have been extremely popular with our supporters on matchday and it’s vital we continue to focus on how we can enhance our travel options to Ashton Gate."

Martin Griffiths, Ashton Gate chairman

Ashton Gate chairman Martin Griffiths said: “The bus routes have been extremely popular with our supporters on matchday and it’s vital we continue to focus on how we can enhance our travel options to Ashton Gate, as well as easing congestion in key areas of the city.

“Following supporter feedback, we have worked closely with First Bus to tweak our routes and services. Our environment footprint is important to us, so we hope supporters will take advantage of these subsidized services as the season commences.”

Bristol Bears launch a new service from Brislington Park & Ride (via JMPUK).

First Bus commercial manager Simon Ford added: “We’re proud to be in partnership with Ashton Gate and the clubs once again. We’re delighted to unveil our new and improved service for 2018/19, with an additional route added for both football and rugby matchdays, as well as an increased service on other selected routes.”
