Chris Vui has challenged his side to continue their upward curve when Sale Sharks visit Ashton Gate for the final home game of the Gallagher Premiership season.
Bristol sit three points behind sixth-place Sale with two games left to play, as they set about breaking into the top six and sealing qualification for the Heineken Champions Cup.
From the beginning of the season we talked about our aims and how confident we are as a squad and we’ve done quite well,” said Vui.
“That’s the confidence in our squad, with players and staff driving high standards and trying to meet the expectations of making the top six.
“It was the goal from day one and it’s still alive. We can still make it and that’s what we’re aiming for.”
Off the back of impressive victories over reigning champions Saracens and Leicester Tigers – who Bristol completed a first ever league double over last week – Vui believes the club’s culture has shone through in recent weeks, as they set about signing off Ashton Gate with victory over a strong Sale side.
“Sale are a strong side with some really good players throughout their line-up, so we know the challenge we will face on Friday night. But with a big crowd expected and the incredible support at Ashton Gate, we’re really looking forward to it.”
“There’s a solid game plan here and everyone is clear on their roles and that’s a huge part of what we do.
“Our culture here at Bristol is awesome and we treat each other like family and everyone helps each other out. The culture is definitely what shines through more than anything.
“Throughout the whole season you talk about how long it is, but when you get to these last few games you wonder where the season goes.
“It puts a lot of toll on the body, but now we’re here, nearly at the finishing line, and ready to sign off as well as we can.
