Four More Players Sign For 2017/18 Campaign

Bristol Rugby’s recruitment for the new season continues with the arrival of four English qualified players.

Jason Harris-Wright will return to Bristol Rugby in the summer after agreeing terms, while back rower Nick Haining joins from Jersey Reds.

Tighthead Prop Tyler Gendall makes the switch from Harlequins and the Club have also snapped up Watsonians scrum half Reiss Cullen.

Hooker Harris-Wright, who has won a European Champions Cup medal with Leinster and a PRO12 title with Connacht, links up with incoming Head Coach Pat Lam once again. The 28 year-old made eleven appearances for Bristol during the 2011/12 season.

Nick Haining arrives from the Channel Islanders, where he spent three seasons. The 26 year-old can play across the back row and has been one of Jersey's standout performers in the Greene King IPA Championship.

22 year-old Tyler Gendall made over fifty appearances for Cornish Pirates in the Greene King IPA Championship, before joining Harlequins on a short-term deal in January.

20 year-old Reiss Cullen signs his first professional contract to move south of the border after impressing the Club’s recruitment team.

“We’re pleased to bolster our options with these talented young players. Tyler [Gendall] caught the eye with his performances for Harlequins in the second part of the Premiership season, while Nick [Haining] has been one of the standout performers in the Championship for Jersey,” Head Coach Mark Tainton told

“Jason [Harris-Wright] is a physical, abrasive hooker who showed his quality under Pat [Lam] at Connacht. At 28 years of age, he fits the bill for what we are looking for and provides competition in the front row.

“Reiss [Cullen] is a livewire of a scrum half who we’ve been really impressed by. He’s a young man who is hungry to make a name for himself in the professional game.”
