Clifton U14 came out on top in a hard-fought and exciting Nando's Cup final, which was played during the half-time interval of Bristol Rugby's 32-14 defeat to Gloucester at Ashton Gate on Friday night.
The Cribbs Causeway youngsters edged out a gritty and determined Winscombe side in front of more than 14,000 supporters, with both sides impressing on the hallowed turf. Clifton eventually ran out winners by three tries to nil.
"Both teams deserve huge credit for both their performance and their conduct during a fantastic finale for the Nando's Cup," said community manager Craig Capel.
"Congratulations to Clifton for their victory, but Winscombe can also be very proud of how they performed on the big stage in front of a huge crowd.
"On the other pitch, the U13 youngsters also put on a fantastic show during what was a very entertaining half-time interval."
