A Championship record attendance of over 16,000 watched Bristol Rugby return to the top flight after seven years in the second tier.
Bristol lost 32-34 on the night to a spirited Doncaster side but it did little to affect a raucous atmosphere, with supporters partying at Ashton Gate until the early hours of Thursday morning.
