Getting to the Gate: London Irish - September 24th

Our matchday bus services will operate, however due to roadworks on the Brunel Way (see below) we strongly encourage supporters to use the earliest service possible on all routes as we cannot guarantee that later services will arrive before kick-off.

  • AG1 - we are providing additional capacity to help mitigate any delays. Services may still be affected and we expect the journey will take longer
  • AG2 – will operate a full standard service. Although this service does not use Brunel Way there may be impact across the road network
  • AG3 – will operate every 30 minutes with departures from Temple Meads at 1230, 1300, 1330, 1400 and 1430. This is to allow buses additional time to complete their journeys. We expect the journey will take longer

Full details of the standard services can be found at www.bristolbearsrugby.com/travel .

Roadworks

The A3029 Brunel Way will have lane closures in both directions across Avon Bridge (the fixed bridge across the River Avon, near the Create Centre).

These lane closures are expected to cause delays on the roads near the stadium. We encourage fans arriving by car to consider avoiding the area and to park further away from the stadium before completing your journey on foot, if possible.

Fans approaching by car from north of the river Avon are encouraged to consider alternative bridges such as:

  • For those using the M5, consider using Junction 19 (Portishead) and travelling towards Ashton Gate along the A369
  • For those coming from north west Bristol, consider using the Clifton Suspension Bridge (toll required) and then the A369
  • For those coming from central/east Bristol or the M32, consider using Bristol Bridge and Coronation Road or Bedminster Parade

Please note there are other works in central and south Bristol including

  • Redcliffe Bridge is closed. Full details can be found here
  • Malago Road/Dalby Avenue/Dean Lane are one way. Full details can be found here

Wherever you are coming from, we strongly advise fans to leave additional time for their journey.

Walking/Cycling

Fans walking or cycling from the city centre and harbourside are advised that Gaol Ferry Bridge is closed for repairs. Vauxhall Bridge and Bedminster Bridge remain open. Full details Gaol Ferry Bridge restoration (bristol.gov.uk).
