Hampson: Home Support Has Been Incredible

Craig Hampson hailed the ‘incredible’ support at Ashton Gate ahead of Bristol Rugby’s clash with Yorkshire Carnegie on Sunday (3pm KO).

Andy Robinson’s men – who top the Greene King IPA Championship – will go in search of a twelfth straight victory this season.

“We're pleased with how we're going but we know we're not the finished article yet,” the scrum half told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“We are getting wins, which is good, but we are not playing as well as we want to every week.

“The fact that we're still winning without playing as well as we want to is pleasing. We will keep improving leading up to the play-offs.

“We’re excited to be back at Ashton Gate. It’s been amazing to play there and the support is incredible.

“I think we average about 8,000 each home game which is unbelievable for the Championship. It does make a difference when you play, it helps and it's really positive.

“The pitch is perfect every week and the stands are very busy and there's a lot of fans there.

“I think it's only going to get bigger and better and the better we do, the more fans will come.”
