Bristol Bears fell to a heavy defeat on the road as Leicester Tigers secured a home semi-final with a bonus point win at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.
Pat Lam’s side touched down twice in the first half through Jack Bates and Toby Fricker, but Chris Ashton’s 28-minute hat-trick – making him the Premiership’s all-time leading try scorer – and further tries from Ben Youngs, Matias Moroni, Freddie Steward, Jasper Wise and Harry Potter sealed a commanding win the table-toppers.
Harry Thacker and Chris Vui touched down late on to earn a consolation bonus-point, but it was the Tigers who took the spoils in round 24.
Bears face Exeter Chiefs in round 25 of the Gallagher Premiership on Friday, May 20th (7.45pm KO).
