Holley Set For Patagonia Trek

Sean Holley will be swapping the rugby field for hiking boots in November when Bristol’s First Team Coach embarks on a mammoth charity challenge.

Holley will join the likes of Welsh rugby legends Shane Williams, Martyn Williams and Jonathan Davies in trekking across Patagonia in the mountains of Argentina.

The trek will mark the 150th anniversary of Welsh settlers who moved from the Valleys to start a new life in South American - and set up Welsh-speaking colonies.

Holley will be raising money for Velindre Cancer Care – the largest non-surgical hospital in Wales, who have provided support to cancer patients for over sixty years.

“I’m really looking forward to getting involved and raising money for a fantastic cause,” the First Team Coach told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“We will be carrying our all own gear for up to eleven hours a day and camping for the six-day trek over mountain trails, so it will be a tough challenge, but nothing like the challenge that cancer patients face every day.”

You can follow Sean’s preparations for Patagonia via Twitter and Facebook, and look out for some exclusive features on Bristol Rugby TV.
