James Phillips to join Bath ahead of 2017/18 season

James Phillips will join Aviva Premiership side Bath ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Phillips, who rejoined Bristol Rugby in the summer of 2015, made 25 appearances in the 2016/17 season, including 18 in the Premiership.

“We thank James for his contribution to Bristol Rugby over the past few seasons and wish him all the best for the future,” said chief operations officer, Mark Tainton.

“I’d like to thank Pat and the coaching team for their understanding in allowing my early release,” Phillips told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“I’ve had a fantastic time at Bristol Rugby and look forward to the new challenge at Bath.

"I would especially like to thanks the fans at Bristol Rugby for their unrivalled support as well as the players who I have played alongside during my time here. I wish them all the very best for the upcoming season."

Thank you, James, for your contribution to the blue and white hoops. We wish you the best of luck in the future.
