A Bristol Rugby supporter is targeting a swimming century as she bids to raise money for the city’s new wheelchair rugby clubs.
Janet Marks, who has been a Bristol Rugby supporter for 45 years, aims to swim 100 lengths of a swimming pool (1.55 miles) on Wednesday, October 11th to raise vital funds for the newly-founded Bristol Bears and Bristol Cubs, as well as a charity rock concert – ‘Daz’s Rock for Charity’.
The money raised will be split between the two local causes.
“This is something I can do to help both charities. I have watched Kris Tavender and Ieuan Coombes helping children with specific needs in Bristol and it's inspirational."
“This is something I can do to help both charities,” said Janet.
“I have watched Kris Tavender and Ieuan Coombes (wheelchair rugby player for Ospreys) helping children with specific needs in Bristol and it's inspirational.
“I have seen what sport has done for Ieuan and it is life changing. I want this for Bristolians too.
“Daz is totally selfless in his fund raising for charity and as a result, many children have enhanced lives. I hope you will support my efforts to help."
