Jordan Williams Joins Bristol Rugby

Jordan Williams will make the switch to Bristol Rugby ahead of the 2016/17 campaign on a two-year contract.

The versatile Scarlets back – who was selected for the 2014 tour of South Africa - is comfortable at wing, full back and fly half.

Williams has made 54 appearances for the Welsh region, scoring 81 points.

“We’re delighted to bring Jordan to Bristol Rugby – he’s an exciting young player and has all the ingredients to light up Ashton Gate with his attacking style,” Director of Rugby Andy Robinson told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“Jordan is in the same mould as David Lemi, he’s quick, elusive and can be dangerous in broken play.

“He’s scored tries at European Cup level and was an integral part of a Wales U20s side that finished runners up in the Junior World Championship, so the pedigree is there.

“Jordan is still a young man with plenty of time to develop, so we’re confident he will thrive in our environment.”

The 22 year-old Llanelli born flyer received the Best Newcomer award after a stunning breakthrough season with his hometown club, scoring 337 points in just 24 games.

Williams added: “Bristol Rugby have a great reputation in the game and I’d heard lots of positive things about the Club and its environment before joining.

“I’m excited to get started in the summer and to play at the brand new Ashton Gate in front of the passionate support.

“Scarlets is a club that will always remain close to me and I’d like to thank the supporters, coaches and my team-mates for the support they have shown me.”
