Kim Oliver appointed head coach of Bristol Ladies

Bristol Ladies Rugby are delighted to confirm the appointment of Kim Oliver as head coach.

The 34 year-old, who won 43 caps and appeared in the 2006 Rugby World Cup for England, has stepped up from her assistant coach role as a permanent replacement for Kris de Scossa.

As the Tyrells Premiership 15s side breaks for the autumn internationals Oliver said she’ll use the time to build team confidence and strategy going into the second half of the season:

“It’s amazing, it's what I've always wanted to do, it's a dream come true."

"The girls have done really well this season and now is the opportunity to up our game."

“The girls have had a couple of difficult games so we need to work on our team culture and get a bit more physical to become an 80-minute team,” she added.

Heidi Chapman-Mercer, chief executive of Bristol Ladies commented:

“Kim’s return to us earlier this year reiterates the long-term connection the club has with its players, staff and volunteers. It is great when they decide to 'come home' again after broadening their skills and experience, we all benefit from that. Especially when there is a desire to share and pass on those new skills to the club. This is exactly what Kim has done. She has taken time away to develop her coaching and player management techniques and it is great to have her back.

“Her International playing experience gives her an extensive knowledge to pass onto the players and club alike. She brings energy, determination and a drive to succeed.” added Chapman-Mercer.
