Lansdown Stand to Include Bristol Rugby Clubhouse

Bristol Rugby are delighted to reveal that the Lansdown Stand lower concourse will celebrate the Club’s proud heritage.

As well as a seventy-metre timeline along the wall displaying the key moments in Bristol Rugby’s history, supporters will be able to enjoy a ‘clubhouse’ on home match days.

The Clubhouse will include memorabilia, imagery and shirts, as well as honours boards with the names of every player who has pulled on the blue and white hoops.

“It’s hugely important that we continue to celebrate our heritage and the traditions that make Bristol Rugby special,” said Chairman Chris Booy.

“Although we are moving into a world-class, 27,000 seater arena, we wanted to retain that clubhouse feel and the matchday atmosphere that makes rugby so unique.

“Supporters, players and coaches from both teams will be able to mingle post-game with a pint, surrounded by imagery and artwork which celebrates Bristol Rugby, our achievements and how proud we are of our home: Ashton Gate Stadium.

“The fantastic South Stand reflects the passion and drive of Bristol City FC and we’re delighted that the Lansdown Stand will do the same for rugby. It underlines Bristol Sport’s commitment to developing all sport in the city.

“I’d like to personally thank Club Historian Mark Hoskins who has done a wonderful job in collating much of the artwork and memorabilia for which all supporters can enjoy.”

With plans well underway, the Lansdown Stand Clubhouse will be launched by December 2016.
