Leitch departs from Shaftesbury Park

Poppy Leitch will leave Bristol Bears Women this summer, the club can confirm.

The dynamic back rower, who can also cover in the second row departs the West Country having spent five seasons at the club.

Poppy joined the club in 2015 as an 18-year-old and in her time at Bristol Bears Women she has gone on to earn multiple caps for the Red Roses, most recently against France in the 2019 Grand Slam campaign

Head Coach, Kim Oliver, said: “This season Poppy has grown into a player that has led with her actions, and used her words to inspire others around her to keep working hard.

“She has also developed into a fantastic lineout leader, always striving to better herself and the standards expected of the pack.

“Having spent five years at the club, Poppy will be sorely missed, and I would like to thank her for her contribution to Bristol Bears Women and we wish her the best of luck in the future.”
